Dog thread!🐾

I think the worst one was a lab mix named Diamond. He was hit by a car. His injuries were not really that bad, but both back legs were broken and the owner couldn't afford surgery and the vet said it probably wouldn't work. He was as lively as ever, besides the fact that he couldn't walk, his tail was wagging and he was being his usual happy to see everyone self. He had boarded not long before so I knew him quite well. It was so hard to see the owner so distraught.

I'm sorry, that's hard. Is she afraid of other dogs now?
Yeah, that was one of the saddest cases
Actually, she is okay with most dogs, but she can get defensive if other dogs are too excited around her. But Luna (the one who bit her) IS afraid of other dogs now and I think a lot of it has to do with Dorie. If Dorie gets upset (and she gets upset easily) Luna's reaction is to attack. We somehow manage to keep the peace between them most of the time. 🙃

That's good! Keeping peace between dogs who don't get along in the same house is hard 😂

You're telling me! haha But I know it could be worse! They still play together occasionally, but we have to be right there to break them up if their moods change.
Yeah that is good! At least they can still play. Do you keep them separated when no one is home to supervise? The dog we had had to be by herself at all times, or it was a fight to the death. Once I let three others out and somehow the door the her room was open. She came busting out and was on the smallest dog. I completely froze, I was so sure it was the end of the one she was on, she was only 50 or so pounds. But she hadn't latched on good (for once) and was easy to rip off.

Yes, we do separate them if we're going to be away for a longer time. I did leave them for just a few minutes one time and I came back to the sound of them squabbling but they stopped by themselves and there were no injuries. They've been a lot better lately and they obviously don't want to seriously hurt each other.

I'm sorry, that is so stressful.

That's nice that they are getting better. I would be worried because of the size difference.

Poor Brew… LOL He wanted to go out a little bit ago but I was like no, you’re not going out because he had just been out chilling on his line for a little while not long before that plus we walked around 8 and I thought he just wanted to chase birds or lay in the sun again like usual. Finally after just a few minutes I realized maybe he had to potty again… so I decided to take him out. Sure enough he did… both pee AND poop. Whoops!   next time, I will LISTEN to him!!!!!!

Btw that marks the third poop of the day. He pooped TWICE on his morning walk. Within like 5 minutes of each other. :th he will probably poop again tonight too making 4-5 poops. I think it’s all the switching around of foods I’ve been doing lately plus the wet food I added. But the one food he’s on is a weight formula and has really high fiber so that could contribute too LOL I think that plus the wet food is making him go more.
