I’m looking for a zapper stick thingie to take on walks with me for loose dogs. So far I haven’t ever wished I had had one, but I want to get something before I do. Last time we were charged I just put Chase in a sit stay and rounded up the loose dog, but I’m worried that next time the dog will be more aggressive. I found this one, but it doesn’t have very many reviews. Does anyone have one that they like? I want something fairly long so I don’t get bit

One thing that I don’t really like about that one is that it seems pretty complicated to get the zapper on. I know it’s a safety precaution, but it seems like I’d be fumbling to get it on while Chase gets mauled

Yeah, that would work. I’m just worried that one day there will be a dog too persistent. I’m sure 99% of dogs would turn tail at just the noise it makes, but I would feel better having the shock too.

My family used to have one of those dogs, and I know the damage they can do. She sent two of our dogs to the emergency vet. It was bad.

Oh, and there was one puppy at the vet that was attacked by another dog. That was the worst injuries I have ever seen, worse than a dog getting hit by a car. It was so sad, he didn't make it.

That's a good idea. I don't think I will ever have to zap any dog, I'm sure the noise will be good enough, but if I ever do have to I want it to be long enough that the dog can't bite me.

Yep, one bite is sometimes all it takes. Dorie's been to the emergency vet twice for dog fight injuries...bad memories...
