Dog thread!🐾

I’m not a fan of contracts either and I won’t buy a dog that comes with one. Once a dog is sold, its the property of the new owner. The breeder ought not have the right to dictate terms that last beyond the sale. I am especially against the concept of “breeding rights.” The new owner alone has the right to breed or not breed their dog as they see fit. I’m all for screening people to make the odds in favor of finding good homes for pups. I don’t believe that’s often what contracts are about. I think they’re often aimed at limiting breeding that will compete with the breeder, and otherwise milking more money out of the sale.

I’m into bulldogs. Specifically traditional deep-South farm bulldogs that don’t necessarily conform to a specific bloodline, but instead conform to an overall type. These days a lot of these bulldogs are called “old English” or “American” bulldogs even though they don’t necessarily come from any of Leavitt’s, Johnson’s, or Scott’s lines.

My male Brunson. He’s going on 4. The black over his right eye is a recent snake bite he’s getting over. The snake the puppy is eating in the pic is not what bit Brunson. He’s a little chunky right now because we had to put him on steroids to combat this last snake bite, and it messed with his muscle tone.

The white puppy is Baby. The plan is for her to be Brunson’s girlfriend in about a year and a half. View attachment 3548172

I won’t pay exorbitant prices for a bulldog or sell mine for the same. There are still people who breed them for the love of the breed and let them go for $200-$300 if you know where to look. Brunson was $600 and Baby was $250. The $3500 I often see bulldogs listed for is ridiculous.
I think the same i understand the whole breeding thing to because of unwanted puppies! But its also hard to start your own breeding when all the good lines of puppies are under a contract! Your Bulldogs are absolutely gorgeous!

I don’t think the contract ends up doing much since the people who are going to do anything you really don’t want them to will do it anyway and then its all ready happened, legal action won‘t do anything for the dog. Though I don’t have any issue with don’t breed the dog but at the same time I think its to difficult too get in to dog breeding. I don’t think the difficulty is helping with stopping none ethical breeding since its so hard to find information or help

The kennel club has a thing where you can put endorsements on the puppies so they can’t be registered (it doesn’t work unless there is proof the breeders has told the buyer there is a endorsement on the puppy) I saw a advert for puppies that couldn’t be registered because the mother had a endorsement 🙁

Fanta is outgrowing her collar and harness :hit the harness was originally Twiggy’s, the collar was the same size as Twiggy’s and they still had a lot of room to increase in size, so I thought they would fit adult Fanta! since Twiggy is a decently sized dog 😭. 1 year old and Fanta’s chest is 79cm, Twiggy’s is 75cm at 2 years old

How much more do you think she will grow?

For Denver we have to go XL or XXL everything. For Tucker he is still in his harness we bought him at like 12 weeks old! And his second collsr still fits him. What breed is Fanta again?

Giant schnauzer cross lab, her father (the schnauzer) was a coffee table but her mother was a small working line lab . xl and xxl sounds really big for a golden! Most dog items here have xxl being giant breed dogs, though the sizing labels can change hugely from one brand to another

I love Giant Schnauzers! XL and XXL is fairly large for a Golden! But she isnt overweight by more than a couple lbs. As last time we were at the vet she weighed 80lbs and the vet said she was at a good weight. Denvers brother that my aunt has weighs 85lbs. Here is her right now! She is angry as she hasnt had breakfast yet!
