Dog thread!🐾

there are a few mixes that get imported by recuse that are part podenco thats what I presumed their dog must be, I can’t imagine a pure one looks anything like Fanta šŸ˜…. They where saying she was a splitting image of their dog

OK yeah, a spitting image of Fanta can't be a pure podenco

I'm going to say either Ibizan Hound, or podenco portugues since they both have wire coats is what said person was thinking
Do you know any good breed pages for the Ibizan Hound? I don't think they have a page for the AKC, so I'm not sure where to start that won't be trying to sell me a puppy the whole time.

The akc has a very small page dedicated to them, but it's mostly energy requirements, temperament, stuff like that. There are a couple of meet the breed videos on the Ibizan. Ihcus is by far one of the best clubs, so look there as well. They have an excellent magazine, the third eye, but you have to subscribe for that. Beezer people are really open to talk about their dogs I've found, so if you have tiktok, definitely look at Beezerbarn and Hounds of Morado (there are a bunch of others too). The breed club should have someone you can email who can give you better information as well. Lastly, if you're up for it, visit local shows. Usually Beezer numbers are low, but sighthound people don't shut up about their dogs so you'll definitely learn something. At slightly bigger shows they'll do meet the breed events. As mentioned before, sighthound people always sign up

The AKC actually does have a page for them apparently.

And a video.

But there’s also the breed club.

Awesome thanks. They must have not met my requirements when I looked at breeds a couple years ago, since they didn't pop up. They're awfully cute, I'll have to see what didn't match up with my search

Everything else matched up decently though ad far as I know

Oh, now that you mention it. I remember Hounds of Morado stressing this. With Beezers, mental stimulation does not replace physical. They need the same amount of both. With most dogs, you can get away if doing mental stimulation if it's say a really bad day to go outside. With Beezers that doesn't fly
