Dog thread!🐾

People keep touching Fanta with out asking! it is getting extremely frustrating since people are one of the things she struggles with :barnie .I have had multiple people tell me while trying to touch her or after I told them not to touch her that they know someone with a assistance dog! you would think they would know better then:rant

I can not think of what I could add to make it anymore obvious that they shouldn’t be touching her or what could make her look less friendly, any ideas?

this was the best picture of her in her gear I could find, she also has a large collar on with in training patches on it

At some point she will be changing to a different harness
I find it wrong. I never ask to pet a SD or AD as i know they have a job.
If i could have one for my medical issues i would, but Denver and Tucker alert me at home or when they are with me so its better.
But still you never pet a dog working.
Some people dont understand.

Tucker is really starting to misbehave. He had a accident in the house the other day for no reason he was outside 30 minutes prior and went.
Yesterday he got scared of a airplane flying above. He has heard them a million times. Theres a airport right out side of our town.
Then he will only listen to me. And nobody else...

I really don’t mind people asking but I wouldn’t touch any dog working or not that I don’t know with out permission from the owner, nobody should!

Exactly. I just know not to ask to pet when they are working as it messes them up.
Asking shouldn’t mess the dogs training up (as long as you talk to the handler not the dog:he) , If you saying hello to the dog would mess their training up then the handler can say no. Some AD handlers do dislike like being asked but I think if you are in a public place then you should have no issue with people asking you questions politely, though a lot of people are not polite!

What i meant was just walking up and petting the dog. It distracts them. A lot of people now are rude.

Tonight i really didnt feel well. Denver came and alerted me before i passed out and i was able to make myself not.
I was suprised at what she did
First i was standing so she actually jumped up on me(so i went and sat down), then she started licking my hand aggressively.
This is the second time she has full alerted me. And she has started doing it for my mom to, just licking her hand aggressively.

And i have been closely monitoring my stress/hr/blood sugar and when she comes up and rests her head/licks, she can sense it before i do.

It is amazing as i didnt even train her.
