I know many wont agree that this works but it does. It worked on the strongest most stubborn saint benard ive ever met. Walking a 200lbs saint benard thats pulling you is no fun.
When the dog starts pulling turn the other direction until it stops. And continue.

Another way is to train your dog to come back when the leash tightens.
Basically start by throwing a treat on the ground far enough away that the leash just tightens up, wait till they eat the treat and then keep tightening the leash till they come back. I used a clicker to teach this to Tucker.
 
The thing that has helped me the most with leash training is realising that a lot of it is actually working on how your dog feels or reacts to things rather then the action of walking with you. Walking with you is a important bit to train but you might also need to work on impulse control, being calm in the environment and engagement
