Collies are adorable!
What about a sheltie? but then they would need more exercise probably.
I was thinking more like beagle or something lolEh. Greyhounds are too big. Iggies are too clingy. Whippets barely make the cut...I've heard they can be a little more bouncy than a typical sprinting sighthound

Ive met some shelties and there coats are really smooth.WAY more exercise. Surprised me. They also don't come in smooth, pretty sure
They dont really smell. I know 3 beagles.Beagles have a lot of energy. And I believe they have a scent to them...like bassets
I never heard the scent thing before but maybe? Idk. I would think the occasional bath would keep it at bay. Also my friend has a beagle and they don’t exercise her that much and she’s perfectly fine. But then again she does have other dogs to play with, not sure how much she does that though. But yeah, I don’t think they’re THAT energetic once older. Otherwise a coonhound or bloodhound or something could work or basset, all are pretty lazy I think. At least once they’re older. But they’re bigger than you want.Beagles have a lot of energy. And I believe they have a scent to them...like bassets

The training assistant in the class we took Tucker to has a sheltie(well 3 shelties) and she is smooth coated.
Our backdoor neighbor has a beagle he gets outside for 30 minutes and gets a 20 minute walk a day.I never heard the scent thing before but maybe? Idk.
