Our vets have never charged for the scale. But they do charge for everything else.
Hopefully our new one is better, thats where we are going for their yearly checkups

Back when I was able to walk longer distances my family had a morbidly obese dog (RIP Polliwog ). She was obese because she injured herself then had arthritis in her hips and couldn't walk well for years. She finally healed enough and I went to work walking her daily. We started out slowly with shorter walks then she gained strength back in her hips and legs and by the end she was walking almost 2 miles at a pretty fast pace. She lost about 20 pounds in...well, maybe I shouldn't tell you how long it took! She was the best on walks though. She was the type who loved to walk more than sniff.

That's good! I know it's hard to find the motivation but please don't let your dog get that fat. I will NEVER get over what happened to that dog. She suffered and even though she lost that weight her last days were horrendous. The guilt is still with me many years later.

I’m sorry but yeah I get it cause our last dog was quite fat and I didn’t see it at all and now I look at old pics and remember his weight and think JEEZ he was fat how did I not see it!? And now with Brew he’s borderline. He’s like pet weight and I’m like he needs to lose a bunch and get fit lol
