Dog thread!🐾

They both sound like amazing partners, friends and companions. I'm so sorry for your losses :hugs

My Goldens. Miss having one. The second one I had only lived 4 years. Toby. He just fell down with me right there..dead. Just like that. Not sick. Nothing . We figure it was his heart. I told what happened here on BYC. A gal that we don't see anymore says..send me a favorite photo and I'll sketch it for you. She did an amazing job. I'll post Toby last but he was my second Golden. The 4 are of Toby, then the sketch. You can see which photo I gave her. Awful day when he passed. I'm rethinking dachshunds. You all know that I want a ratter, but all the terriers seem too high energy for me. On the other hand, I am considering only having an outdoor LGD:idunno
I rescued a Dachshund once. Back in the 80's I had a real tiny girl. They're cute. My daughter has 3. Spine issues are a concern. One of her boys has had several back surgeries. Love the LGD'S!

Oh..and I had a Jack Russel back in the 90's. I couldn't keep up with that dog even in my younger years. šŸ˜‚ BYU here in Utah used the gals dogs we got ours from. BYU has classes for farming. Would use her Russels to catch varmints.

Ive met a few long haired ones they dont seem to bad.
But short haired would be easier to maintain

Yup, I don't think it's nearly as crazy as a Cav. I still don't want to risk it. Especially since it will be going after rodents in potentially dirty places

For sure. I'd have to be really careful to find a line that seems like it keeps this problem from popping up too often in their offspring

LGDs are great. I'm almost certain I'll have one. Just not sure if I'll ALSO have an indoor dog

What breed of LGD are you thinking?
