Dog thread!🐾

I do not show dogs or do any dog sports. My dream dog is an Aussie. This (see picture) is Patsy, my Mountain Curr mix.Don’t let her fool you,she is very energetic and mischievous. She has also always had that cow lick on her head. She is the puppy of two of our other dogs. She is three years old and has lived here her whole life except the 8 months that she spent with another family (that was supposed to be her forever home) but they brought her back because she’s so bad. šŸ˜‚View attachment 3914519
She is adorable!
A aussie is a dog i want so much. We use to have a lab x aussie and he was such a good boy.

Ive noticed something with Tuckers reactivity towards dogs. He doesnt react to fluffy dogs no matter what size. But any dog not fluffy he does react to.
All dogs he was charged at were short haired. Dont know if he really recognizes that.
But 2 days ago i was off leash training and someone let their little dogs out he ran toward where they were which was up on a deck. 3 small dogs that always bark at him. I didnt have his e collar on my fault.
But this morning he decided it was best to not go toward these dogs on the walk and instead walked the other way which ive been training that he has a way out. Its been helping. And he didnt react to a big fluffy German Shepherd. But he does react toward the shorter haired German Shepherd in town.

I’m sure he does recognize and remember that. Dogs are smart.

They are great dogs but they can be very high energy and you have to train them properly. Our Aussie was VERY energetic as a pup she is still a little energetic but a good run out in the barnyard can take care of that

I know how much training high energy dogs need. I have a field golden. Our lab x aussie is more aussie than anything i could handle him even when i was younger. Ive met a few aussies. Helped out a friend with a aussie mix. Of course im not just going to jump and get one though
