-Dogs are Gods way of saying your not alone-
Well the potty training seems like he has a habit of i dont need to go outside. If he has a kennel put him in there. When he goes potty outside he can be out. If he doesnt he needs to be kenneled for awhile. We have bells on our front door, but the problem is that like you said, sometimes we don't hear him ringing his bells (if he even is ringing them, which he's likely not.) Its so frustrating too because I would take him outside for an entire walk and he would refuse to go potty, and right after his walk he would go #2 or #1 inside the house. That's a good idea about stopping his resource guarding! Every time he does that, we back away cuz we are afraid of being attacked or something, so that basically lets him know that snarling gets his wayHe would definitely give me a toy happily, but I'm not sure if he would apply that training to real life when he has something that he wants.
When you back away you are saying to him im scared of you and if i growl/snarl get my way.
Carry super high value treats everywhere and test if it works.
