Dog thread!🐾

Denver gets chunky during the winter months. Or during really hot months. But i cut her regular meal back 1/4 cup on those days. Then she gets no treats. For training i use part of their meal or cut back 1/4 cup as well. If you are worried about Brew being hungry still get some green beans and steam them. It worked when Denver was overweight, she was always hungry so 1/4 cup of green beans on her food. You can do other veggies now.
But we have been being more active and doing more work with muscles she is at her fit weight. Tucker needs to gaun a 1lb

I’ve tried green beans briefly before and he liked them so maybe I can again. LOL
Tucker eats more than Denver. He eats 4 cups a day of kibble(i think it’s 380 kcal) plus treats and his daily enrichment. He doesnt gain weight but will loose it.
Oh wow. I wish Bree didn’t gain so easily LOL

Brew has been SO good lately too LOL recalled off a rabbit yesterday from the property line/kind of neighbors yard immediately with just a verbal ā€œBREWSTER NO!ā€ because I didn’t have time to grab the remote out of my pocket and just instinctively shouted that LOL came right back.

THEN!!!!!!!!!

Today he saw me cutting open his flea and tick meds and ran into his crate 🤣

I called him, nothing.

So then I moved closer/in view of his crate and said ā€œBrewster, COME!ā€ in a slightly firmer tone than the first time but not yelling or anything.

He came running over and even sat down for me. šŸ¤£šŸ˜ā¤ļø

Then just now I left the door wide open while I was moving some stuff outside right in front of it and he didn’t move one toe towards the door LOL

I did shut it immediately after but still.

He’s SO GOOD.

I've noticed this on my dog lately. Black scabby something that's symmetrical on the backs of his ears, elbows, and hocks. The black scabby bits go further out from the bare areas. I've seen flies on them, but it doesn't seem to bother him at all. I haven't seen him scratching once. Golden Retriever/German Shepherd, he's just 8 months old now so I haven't started him on skin or allergy supplements. Skin allergy? Infection? Or nothing? I noticed the ones on his elbows and hocks several weeks ago, but didn't get a chance to look closer. I thought it was just because it's a general gland area, but then I saw it on the ears and found the crusty black things. Not sure that the crusty black is on the elbows and hocks too, though, it didn't totally look like it, but those still looked rough. He's outside all day (with shade and water 24/7, unless it's really hot then he's in) and in all night, if that could indicate anything.
