Yeah I’ve seen dogs before in areas where they’re supposed to be leashed and they’re off leash and honestly, if they’re deep in the woods or something, I don’t really care as long as they listen well. But I have also seen numerous dogs that have no business being off leash being… off leash. LOL running right up to people and/or dogs, stopping to sniff forever, etc. and totally ignoring the owner calling them. Those dogs should be ON A DANG LEASH if you can’t recall them LOL even in the areas that allow off leash dogs, it specifically says MUST BE UNDER OWNERS CONTROL and clearly your dog is NOT LOL

Oh wow!!!!!
To be fair, there IS like a 6-7' enameled chain link fence, then also an electric fence, to keep any living thing from crossing the fence from either direction, but there is, I think, one gate where a dog could get through. I get how folks would find it a good place to let their dogs loose. And it IS. If it weren't for the horses, it might as well be a dog park. There are no houses nearby, it's quiet, there aren't any little kids, there are wide open areas and it's about 99% fenced. But still, the signs are up for good reason. No one picks up after their dogs, either. I have seen a jogger or two bring their dog with, and no poop bags in sight, plus poop all over the main trail section. It's a little annoying.

Maybe they aren't bothered by all the tags and boxes and dont even concider to their dog a sevice dog; hes just a pet out for a stroll with his owner.
Then that's completely different abd the dog should not be in a non pet friendly environment anyway. I was specifically referring to service dogs in non pet friendly places like shops

Oh wow that’s gross!!!! There’s a trail here where people often don’t pick up poo either EVEN THOUGH THEY PROVIDE BAGS AND A TRASH CAN. OR!!!!! If they DO pick it up, they leave it on the side of the trail or chuck it into the woods and what good is that!? Just as nasty. And possibly worse cause it can’t break down. Heck, people even sometimes leave poop or bags on the side of the roads here too. Like what the heck!? That’s really nasty LOL like… the side of the road!? Really!? How hard is it to BRING FREAKING BAGS!?!?!?!?! And the trail mentioned isn’t even specifically for dogs. It’s supposed to be for regular non dog people too. Yet it’s basically a dog park 🤣😭

It’s a huge field, some wooded areas, AND!!!!!!!! Even a very small beach. At low tide on a nice day on a weekend, there can sometimes be like 10-20 dogs there at a time, playing with each other LOL I used to bring Brew there or, when I still drove, to a different trail in the woods and cranberry bogs with ponds that ALSO has tons of dogs constantly, and he would play with them for hours at both places LOL but then he got kennel cough one time at the field so we don’t go there anymore. Plus he’s older now and while he still LOVES other dogs (I know some dogs his age and breeds stop liking other dogs but not him LMAO), not every dog likes him LOL he still has a very puppy like energy about him despite being almost 5 and neutered late so he could mature but he still hasn’t in some regards LOL and some dogs get overwhelmed by that and I don’t want a fight especially one where he would probably be automatically blamed due to his breeds so we stay away now LOL which stinks but it is what it is.

Sorry for the MASSIVE novel and tangent/rant LOL

They have bags and trash cans at this park, too - in more than one place along the trail!
I'd definitely love it if we brought Jäger sometime. It'd be a perfect place to try some recall with his 30' lead.

This is exactly why I won't take my dogs to a dog park. A friend often invites me to one nearby but I know its a place where ppl sit around talking while their dogs runamok. Dogs don't need other dogs as much as we think they do. My dogs see plenty of dogs but there's no need for them to engage with all of them. Imagine if we had to stop and hug every person we met... phew.. no one would leave the house lol. Imagine the scenes in shopping centers! :lau

Yeah, there’s a legit dog park in my town too but you’re right, people just talk LOL there’s even benches. And one time, when it first opened, my brother and SIL and I or maybe just SIL and I took their first dog there and there was an aggressive one running around chasing everyone and I think it even pinned her down. It even chased one up onto the table. We left after that LOL cause all they did was grab it and hold it and be like calm down, *name*, calm down or “you Need to calm down.” 🙄 I think it even ran up to the fence and was barking or growling at a kid on someone’s shoulders. They should have had the common sense to LEAVE but they didn’t so instead, we did and we never went back LOL it might be better now though. IDK. This was years ago. And I know some people who take their dogs there and have no issues or minimal issues so I think it IS better now but I’m still not risking it LOL
