Yeah, I think I’ve read that. His might be too small now as he’s kinda fat now I might need to buy some more links. Chewy has just the links as well as the collars

Hmm. Those are different from what I am used to. Mine don't join in the middle. Interesting.

They should join at the middle. It’s called the distributor plate. That is what evenly distributes the pressure so it isn’t concentrated in one point, like slips are. You don’t get the full benefit of prongs if they don’t have that in my opinion. And I think they are kind of dangerous without them. That is a lot of pressure concentrated on the trachea.

If used properly, there is no sustained pressure anywhere. The handler should only give the collar a quick snap and release. It should mimic nature - it should feel like a dog bite, a guick snap and release, the "pressure" should only last a fraction of a second.
