I have 3 male dogs. Cattle dog mix, pointer mix and a dachshund. The cattle dog and pointer do not bother the chickens at all. The cattle dog would herd them all back into their pen when he was a pup. The dachshund... will chase them if he thinks no one is watching. I think he would grab one if left to his own devices. He can not be trained to leave them be. (At least, I can't train him) LOL. I worked with the big boys and they pretty much ignore the chickens now, so I think in my experience dogs and chickens can live together..
