My own dogs grew up on my fresh food, the rescues are harder to get them to
eat fresh veggies I kinda use the old trick of competition

Cool! I'd never guess that was her mom, but I don't understand genetics anyways lol!

@DuckGirl77 you can't tell from the picture but her mom, the black dog, is actually seal blue, she has 1 recessive gene. She looks black but in the sun she has a brown sheen, last time I bred her with a solid brindle male who carried a recessive blue gene. I had a real black pup, 3 blue brindle, a buckskin, a blue fawn, a solid blue pup, 2 red brindle and a fawn brindle. I can't wait to see jawas pups, I want to breed her in the next year, I hope she caught one if those recessive genes, I found a blue fawn male to breed her with so even if she doesn't carry a blue gene her pups will ^_^

That breed has a lot of variety! Do you know approximately how many blues you'll get, if Jawa has the recessive gene?

If I'm lucky about 3/4ths of them would be, the male has 2 recessive blue genes. I usually have a litter of 8-10 pups so 6 or 7 hopefully you can never really tell until they are born, honestly all could be blue or none could be, it's a fickle thing

Awwwp,s sorry penny1960 :'( when my graycie disappeared and got hit by the car I was distraught. Upset in so many ways, we called the police and animal control and they said they would call us if anyone reported anything, I if course couldn't wait so we went driving, I spotted her in a ditch and jumped out of the car just as a cop was getting out of his car , nobody ever called me they were just going to put her down. She was less than an 1/8th of a mile from the house.

She better now besides loosing her hearing. She doesn't roam anymore, we grew up on a farm with 54 acres and when I moved into the suburbs I brought her, she just didn't know. pitbulls live to be between 8 and 15 on average and at 10 she's getting kinda old and gray faced, When she dies a part of me will die with her
