Doing my best to raise these ducks

Yeah it’s time released. Since these won’t work, do I need to get special niacin supplements just for ducks or a different kind of capsule?
You can use b complex which you can find with other supplements or at tractor supply. As well, brewers yeast is apparently near seasonings or find nutritional yeast.
Their set up looks good. What I learned from my ducklings is that if they get scared enough they can get over the sides of the pool. You could put cardboard around it. I used leftover welded wire, but also had cardboard around it once they got big enough to poke their heads through the spaces in the welded wire.

Okay, so I have them set up in a kiddie pool I bought at Walmart today with their new shavings. I watched them for about an hour, they can’t get out because the sides are too slippery but I’ll have to set up something around it for when they grow. I picked up a heat lamp but I don’t think that they’re going to need it tonight even because I noticed them panting. I’ve had a fan on them and I think it’s helping. I got niacin capsules for humans, will that work or do I need to get duck supplements? I haven’t given it to them yet because I don’t want to do anything until I’m sure it’s okay. Also, is it normal for them to do their legs like this or are they bowing because of niacin deficiency??? They’re not like that constantly but the do it sometimes.

They definitely like to lay or stretch like that. Just like we do when we are sleepy or waking up!

Currently I have their pool surrounded with boxes and lids to block them from jumping out. There’s nothing in my garage to scare them except for me so they’ll be fine for tonight. Tomorrow I’ll tape some cardboard around the pool though. How do you guys recommend handling them? They get so scared when I try to touch them or pick them up.

That’s normal. They will get more relaxed with you especially if you develop a routine with them. I always talk to mine before I even get to the room so they won’t be startled. I talk softly. I also will try giving them feed out of my hand if the bowl ran empty throughout the night. They are normally really hungry and will eat out of your hand if you stand still long enough. Then when they are a little older give them treats out of your hand. I’ve never given mine a choice and they all eat out of my hand as adults.

Yeah. I scared mine enough by trying to scoop them out, that they jumped out. ;)
Mealworms will help them to warm up to you. :)
