Hello,
My Dominique hen In Albis seems to be having trouble. She was broody for about a week or more some weeks ago and is no longer broody. I found out she has bumble and have been treating it. Today I saw yellow stuff on her feet and legs what could that be? Is she shedding her scales? She is now very slow and not as energetic as she normally is. I tried giving her feed and she did not want it. Normally she flaps out of my hand and she didn't today. She went back to the coop and is trying to lay an egg although I did not feel one in her. Also the temperature has been dropping high and low very fast (110°F - 73°F) and it has been raining the last couple of days and it's humid. Could this also cause this? She has also lost a pound over the last couple of weeks. She was 5 pounds and is now about 4 pounds
Here's the pictures of the yellow stuff ( scale shedding?) My brother pulled the some off before i could get this picture. Once i soaked her feet it came off pretty easy. edit: I think she may of sat on an egg and cracked it. But let me know if it is something else!

And her bumblefoot

Before and after I treated her feet she has been standing on one foot and then the other rotating them. The whole morning she has been sitting or standing on top of the nest boxes on one foot.

If anyone could please give me advise or help!
Thank you very much!!

I was told Prid is good to draw out the hard core, then you can cover the hole with Neosporin or other antibiotic ointment and a bandaid. (*touchwood* I have not had to try it yet.) https://hylands.com/products/prid-drawing-salve

I don't think the yellow stuff on her feet has anything to do with the bumble foot, or scale shedding. Your guess at yolk from a broken egg seems more likely.
Bumble foot can be difficult to deal with. The best and quickest option is to get a vet to remove the core.
I've had mixed results trying to treat bumble foot in the past but I did eventually find a way of making an foot pad that lasted a day and encouraged the core to move out of the foot and relieved the pain of walking on the foot.
I've book marked the thread and I'll try to find some pictures of what I did last time.

I hadn't forgotton, just too busy to trawl through thousands of pictures to find some that may be relevant.
I tried soft foam at first around 10mm thick. It deformed badly and didn't prevent pressure being applied to the bumble.

I tried a section of handle bar grip next and this was too hard and uncomfortable.

I was fortunate to have a sheet of 8mm neoprene and this worked quite well but even this need changing daily.
