The Black Copper King and his Red Dominique Rooster!!!

I have some info from Lee Penny ( Marans and more ) on byc.
Message me for his info. Red Crele pattern.
Autosexable they lay a cream color egg.
He would like to get people working on these.

Well, the first cock (which is also the second to last bird); seems to have pink on his earlobes, and in the picture of the two hens, the one in front looks like she has white earlobes. The hen being held (third picture down), looks like she has a flopped over single comb. Other than that, I don't know what to tell you, except that every bird with a rose comb and cuckoo barring is not a Dominique.

My thoughts exactly. I think they are splotchy looking cross breeds. They look huge, too, Doms are supposed to be smaller, even the large fowl Doms. The body shape does not look like Dominique, they look like they have long backs and some even look like they have pink-grey legs (tho that might just be the photo). So they do not fit the SOP for several reasons. If folks want to work on developing this breed, then I say go for it. But I don't think it really belongs in this thread because they are not Dominiques.

ok I am not a Dominique breeder just more of a Crele fan so when he asked me to post these I said I would. If anyone wants to contact him directly let me know and I can get you his info. In case you have more questions on how these where developed.

Although I don't keep them, I like crele coloring as well, it's an attractive pattern. Whenever I get birds like that, they sell quickly.

Hello everyone! I have Dom/Rhode Island Red crosses (rooster was a Dom, hens were RIR). They are colored like Doms. I was wondering if anyone could tell me approximately when they will start laying. They are 7 wks old now.

Lol well if anyone wants to work on a crele line of Dominiques I am sure there are plenty of breeders with nicely bronzed birds they'd be glad to send to the project breeder.

As far as the RIR/Dom crosses they will probably start laying 17-19wks. It all depends on the bloodlines, so without knowing your line no one can tell you for sure. Also feed and time of year - since these gals are young now they will probably want to lay early since they will have the increasing daylight on their side vs a spring chick usually has decreasing daylight during the time of year they would normally start laying. All birds (even though Doms seem to be way less photo dependant than some breeds) are affected by daylight hours.
