Dominique Thread!

I was given a Dominique chicken by a friend whose children got it at some Easter event. She was the best chicken I ever had!!! She would follow me around the yard, right at my feet wherever I went. She loved to be held and carried. She had the sweetest temperment and such a great personality!!! I am wanting to get chickens again and want to get some Dominiques. I live in NW Georgia just outside of Chattanooga, TN. If anyone has any chickens or chicks to sell please let me know. I would love to have 8-9 and a rooster too.

Kinsey 228, and all the rest of the Dom lovers out there: I can't tell you all how much I'm enjoying my 3 little Doms. They are the sweetest little birds, and have excellent emerging foraging abilities. They are always the first to try out any new snack that I offer. They hold their ground against chicks that are 3 times their size, but don't appear to be at all aggressive. The only negative comment I have to make about the breed is that they grow and feather slowly. And that's not a negative, just something to be aware of. If you were not aware of this, you might think there was something wrong with them when comparing them to other LF chicks.

Just got 5 Doms in my new (to be flock) on Friday. In just these first few days, I am really amazed at the difference. My kids even noticed that they are the most curious, first to come to you, easy to hold and so calm. I selected all the breeds I did (Orpington, Wyandotte, and Welsummer) based off of feedback of being good tempermant so I was expecting them all to behave about the same. They are all great so far and I'm not dissapointed in the least, just surprised at the difference.

Growing up so quickly. This one is the first one to come say hi. So curios and smart.
