Dominique Thread!

I love the U-shape back. Such a pretty girl.

Of course I love the English, Puritan, and Colonial names like Maude, Mildred, Muriel, Martha, Dolly, Abigail, Prudence, Constance, Priscilla, Temperance, Joy, Faith, Hope, etc!!!!

Ours are named Ivy, Columbine, Rose, Violet, and Daisy, Good 18th and 19th Century names. I name them and give them a band of the appropriate color.

I would but there is two problems, I'm on vacation, and just today I got word that she and the golden (also shown) were killed by a coyote

Sh*t !!! So sorry about the loss. That's one of the reasons we don't go on extended vacations.

I was house-sitting my DD's place and during those 2 weeks I had to pick up scattered trash from a Raccoon, her dog killed an Oppossum, the local wild Rabbit kept coming onto the lawn to eat the lawn, a very large male Coyote peered through the iron fence at us - TG the dog was in the house at the time or she would've gone after it, and the strong odor of Skunk was in the air for 3 successive days. My daughter said Sh*t happens only when they're away on vacation!

Here is a video of my 11 week olds cleaning up a rat snake. They did not kill it but they sure were excited when I brought it to them. Notice how the cockerel is the only one accomplishing much lol

My 3 Dom pullets are all becoming the most likely to come and mill around my feet when i visit them. Interesting, as I never put any effort into socializing these chicks, like i did last year's girls. I find that all chicks become much more friendly as they approach POL.
