Dominique Thread!

As I said above, but here again, and in better detail, from the following website: http://ponderosaplantation.com/american-dominiques/

Below we have the Dominique Standard Illustrations. These photos are the final product of A.O. Schilling’s interpretation of photos of winning Dominiques from 1913. These drawings are listed in the American Poultry Association’s “Standard of Perfection”.

It's weird that they call the pictures both photos and drawings. Like you say - probably touch-up of actual photos.

Here's Bubbles stopping by to say "Hello." This pic was taken during the routine chicken chores as she follows me around.

She's pretty spoiled.
DD decided to use Bubbles as a training subject. So far, she's proved to be one very intelligent chicken!

It's crazy if you go to that link and click on the person's Facebook he has pictures of his Dominique's and the rooster he has looks very close to the standard of perfection.

I had 2 Dominique chicks. One had a rather large white spot on head and the other had white on its head that was kinda all over the place. Both turned out to be cockerels. My understanding is that if they have no white dot or if it is a small, well defined white dot, it will be a pullet. Hope this helps.
