Dominique Thread!

I wish I had those wattles! The light color not so much....

Also I would like the comb a little longer in the back,BUT shape is perfect as is the head!!

Maybe we can Dr Frankenstein your's head onto mine's body...

His legs are a great bright color too....

He has some shiny points I tell ya!

I too love those tiny wattles!!

And yes... I am going to have to hatch out a set of chicks...see what I get.

Thanks!

I might regret using him, some of his markings are so blurred out in spots that they are close to gone.

I am going to use him anyway.... :ya

his washed out tail feathers.

Good for you Alaskan! Breeding to conformation in type is always more important than color. If this male carries good type and has traits that you want in your birds than you are going in the right direction.

Got my first little Dom egg the other day.

I put an average sized egg in for size comparison

Do you have any full body pics of him? I think that lighter barring is pretty!

No good ones... and yesterday I tossed him into the main coop... so give me a month. ;)

Nice first egg there! First eggs are always good!

@Delight in Dominiques thanks! That is what I am thinking. I have one pullet that I really like the looks of.. she is pretty dark, great pattern, too much dark wash on her beak..but I think she will have good form and be more trim. Anyway, I am thinking I will probably pair those two.

I can't hatch any chicks until end of February though...which is good... that will give them all more time to mature... I want to see how they look once more grown.

I'm a little jealous of y'all that actually get to breed and hatch these birds. I really want to get a couple of chicks from Hobo in the spring but unless something changes it isn't going to happen. Silly girl still wants nothing to do with my boy, he's trying very hard maybe too hard? She squats for me but really that doesn't do much good. :)
