As pullets my Doms did not have much of a U-back until about 5 or 6 months old. At first I thought I had duds LOL! But they matured nicely and their funny tails turned into nice teepee shapes. They all had decent leaders(spike) at the back of their combs yet each of the 3 Doms had such a uniquely different-looking comb that I could tell which was which by the shape of their comb alone! I agree -- Doms are avid diggers -- hardly ever still except during their mid-day naps. The Doms as pullets were very adventurous which made us try different fencing until we found one that kept them from flying over. They are even respecting the shorter walk-through iron gate which they can easily jump over but have learned we keep putting them back on "THEIR" side so they've stopped jumping it. They are a very smart breed and with patience are very trainable!
