Help me understand something.
What does DOM stand for? Is DOM an acronym?
Is DOM just a color or a strain?
Where do they originate from?
I thought it was just a color but I see a lot of ads selling DOM Gamefowl without mention of any strains, so Maybe it is a strain.
I have also seen ads for DOM white fowl, which leads me to believe it is a strain and not the color. If it is a color can any type of gamefowl come DOM?

dom can mean many things.

dom. white = dominant white. refers to the color genetics of the bird

dom = short for dominique, a dual purpose bird

dom = several families of gamefowl, usually based off of crele or barred patterns although many families throw solid whites or barred pyles. dom can refer to any gamecock with barring, or that comes from a line of predominantly barred birds. some lines of dom gamefowl include: Chappell, Kentucky, JBL, and Baker.

Thanks all!! that helps me understand DOM's now. So a white DOM would not be DOM it would just be WHITE. Right?

Quote:
either solid white as in dominant white or a white bird (dominant or recessive) out of "dom" parents or a mostly white bird with some faint barring here and there.
