ill be posting at backyardherds too but I’d thought I’d post here as well. So early this morning I let my chickens out for a little bit and went inside to do something. I came back and found about 5-8 hens in the donkey/goat barn. I chased them out and checked around to clean up the poop. I put all the chickens in the coop and went back inside.
Fast forward-about 30 mins ago I went to the donkey/goat barn to check on the new goats and found an egg nestled in the hay bin for the donkeys. There was also poop in the hay *sigh* I had to throw away perfectly fine hay. I took the egg out and handed it to my brother who had been trailing along. I told my brother to lock the barn door for right now so the donkeys don’t eat the poop while I get the wheelbarrel. The wheelbarrel was near the duck pen and after getting it and waking back it took about 15 mins. The barn door was open but I guess I wasn’t really paying attention. I came in and my oldest donkey who is 15 y.o. was eating out of the hay feeder with chicken poop in it. I ran over and moved the donkey. She has eaten most of the hay. My brother must of gotten sidetracked and not closed the door I quickly put the rest of the hay in the wheelbarrel and moved it to our livestock dumpster. I asked my brother if he closed the door and he “forgot”. The donkey had to of eaten chicken poop. I don’t know if chicken poop is bad for donkeys and I could be worrying over nothing but Ijdk.
Like I said I’ll be posting on backyardherds soon but I’d thought I’d try here.
