I (respectfully) disagree; there isn't too many people, it's that a lot of people are sadly ignorant of where food comes from and etc. Read some of the Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat thread. You'll see what I mean.

Truthfully, I have no opinion on silkies as dinner one way or the other. What I object to is someone telling me what I should choose to eat. I don't like someone making choices like that for me.

It's a personal choice, and it's mine to make for myself.

I agree, it seems like just a way to get a conversation started, or to incite some sort of argument/debate. It's interesting that one little note, about CHICKENS, sparked a discussion/debate about GMOs, religion, war, and freedom. Maybe that was the point? Either way, interesting, but kind of a waste of time...

At least politics stayed out of it!
