I have 4 Leghorn Hens, 2 Orpington Roosters, and 7 Stars or backyard chicks that I am not positive that are all hens as I am hoping. I have a group shot of them together with one of my leghorns and then I have also pictured them in smaller groupings. If you can help I would greatly appreciate it.

That's a Rose Comb Brown Leghorn, and she's a white egg layer. Some one else is laying your brown eggs.

I thought that when she was younger, but her comb is completely flat. Not saying that she couldn't just be faulty but I have had my barred rock + 2 black & 1 gold sexlinks, for a year and they lay large to jumbo light brown eggs almost daily.
The new girls are about 4-5 months: a New Hampshire (large lighter brown egg), a Fayoumi which hasn't started laying what is supposed to be a white/light egg yet, and then there is this girl, who I'm assuming is laying this very small brown egg. I've gotten a few large light brown eggs and regular small shiney dark eggs from this young group....unless the New Hamp lays both light brown and small darks because I haven't gotten those on the same day. I'm stumped. I'll get better pics.

Probably your New Hampshire still working out all the kinks in her production system. White earlobes = white eggs.

Can you tell if this 4 month old Buff Orpington is a pullet or a cockerel? He/she is making long gutteral sounds that I think might be an attempt to crow. The comb is much more developed than the other girls. I'm hoping it's a she!

I have an all black pullet. Pictures are from when it was a week old and around 12 weeks. I've been told Australorp, but Austrolorp chicks are usually black and white. I was thinking Black Freedom Ranger. She came from a 1st grade class hatching project so I have no idea what breed the parents are.

Hi. Thank you. I figured it's a mixed breed, but I'm trying to decide if it's a meat bird or egg layer. If a meat bird then she'll get culled with the extra roosters.

The only meat-type breed that can't live a long healthy life are the Cornish crosses. She looks like she's the product of a multi-generational mixed breed flock. She'll be just fine as a backyard layer.
