Don't know what breed or gender you have? Click here!

Those are cockerels. Yeah that one tail is a bit high but they are young still. I'll add a pullet photo to make it easier.

A teacher friend hatched these for class. She doesn't remember what breeds and now they are mine. Originally I thought I may know these breeds (and sex) but I am STUMPED! lol Any help would be great. They are about 4 weeks or so of age. And I believe these are the four breeds however there are a few more that may have some differences. Like the white ones all look alike however one or two don't have feathery legs. lol

They're mixes. The eggs hatched in classrooms are almost always donated by a local chicken keeper who has a rooster (or several). You can guess at what might be in the mix just like you can with mutt dogs but who knows whether they even had "pure bred" parents?

I'm hoping that they were corralled in that pool for photos and aren't living there full time. That's nowhere near enough space for them.

Wondering about sex on this one standard blue cochin. Out of four I got one that was obviously a cockerel and two that are obviously pullets. I can't figure this one out. The comb isn't as red, as large, or shaped the same as the other cockerel. They are nine weeks old. The first two pictures are the bird in question. The others are the hatchmates.

Cockerel. Early development of ears/wattles/comb and the patchy coloring are saying this one is a male.

Don't know the breed or gender of your chicks? Post here! I can help!

I've always dreamt of having my own hens since working with a local farmer and my city ordinance finally allowed me to own 3 hens. So Easter weekend I went and got me three chicks with an 80% of them being female. Well now the older they get, I'm worried based off two of their behaviors, noises, and what looks like the beginning of sickle feathers.. I'm not allowed to have roosters and I have rude neighbors so I know the second a could-be rooster let's out a crow, I'll be called on so I need to avoid this. The two I'm worried about is the Rhode Island Red, and the blonde one (which I was told is a New Hampshire red, which I'm doubting), and the Dominique I'm 99% positive is a hen so no worries with her. But I was hoping you could tell me the gender of the other two. Please

Where did you get them?

ETA:
I did the math, they're 11 weeks old. That makes me more sure they're all pullets. The red with the white tail looks like a sexlink. So, assuming you went to a farm store that buys from a hatchery, 100% sure it's a pullet. The picture isn't sufficient to evaluate combs or look for emerging rooster feathers but the patterning looks female on all 3.

Anyone else need those chickies sexed or identified?
I'm hoping both these are pullets but one of them went toe to toe with my pug this morning (the pugs are trained to leave the chickens alone and I was right there so watched the whole thing) - the chick got all defensive and aggressively began guarding the others. Makes me a little nervous that what I thought was a she may be a he.
