Don't tell the wife, I'm growing fodder in the 2nd bathroom!

@gtaus, have you ever grown duckweed as fodder? It seems well suited to life in the shower.

Very clever. :D

I have not grown duckweed, but I did watch a YouTube video where a guy had a small pond growing duckweed. He would scoop out some duckweed with a net and feed it to his chickens. He claimed duckweed was very good for birds.

Thanks for the link! I spent two hours last night reading many of these reviews! The geek in me came out. ;) Now I know the true science of fermented feed. I've uploaded the best article I found, so that others don't have to search so much.

Biased subjective opinions are not science.
Peer review has not occurred amongst qualified scientists.

which takes me back to, if it is so good why is it not available commercially and why are the commercial egg factories not using it?

If you want to use it, fine, but realize it is a feel good product and has no real value.

There are many products out there people claim do many amazing things. The FDA shuts down thousands of them with more science behind them than FF has.

Fermented feed belongs in the same category.

One last article. This talks about energy loss from fermentation. This is about hay. However, to think this occurs in hay and not other feeds defies logic and science. Fermentation uses energy those loss must occur.

Buying a carefully formulated feed and destroying the formulation makes no sense.

It is like people going to a casino to get rich, it might happen but the science shows it most likely won’t.
