Wait, sheep didn't have wool? I didn't know that!

They still had hair, or fiber, it just shed out naturally. There are "hair sheep" breeds still that don't have to be sheared each year. Humans bred some sheep breeds to where they are with wool that has to be sheared yearly, or it just keeps growing. These bald chickens have been around about 10 years now. Over time they have realized that there are quite a few hurdles to overcome, from sunburn, breeding injuries, skin infections, to several others. Imo, any savings from not needing to pluck these meat bird, would be offset by all the other problems encountered just to get them to market weight. And I'm not even gonna go there about the long term breeding problems.
