Picture # 3 tells the story- cockerel. Why? Pointy hackle feathers, pointy saddle feathers,and shiny pointy wing coverlets.

I can see that but we had a female that looked roosterish. Her name was Big Mama, cuz she was huge, a RIR, and she had the shiniest feathers, her tail feathers were green and curled over like a roos, she had a pretty big comb and wattle. She never crowed once and I bet if she was still around she would make the biggest eggs. But I know Big Mama was a girl after awhile of thinking she was a roo, just by her behavior being different from the roo we previously had. I wish I had pictures, Big Mama was pretty.
