My rhode island red Loretta just started laying last week. I think she's had one normal egg. The rest have been a struggle for her to get out, and she's been dropping out 2 at once. My other birds didn't do that when they started, and I'm worried she's going to have an egg break inside of her. I took pictures this morning-- they are definitely both her eggs because I've watched her uncomfortably drop two out before. How do I help this poor girl, or does this come along with being a new layer?

I think you just wait. The glitches usually solve themselves.
You were right - today she laid the biggest egg we've ever seen. Double Yolk, but this time inside of a hard shell. Thanks for the reply. I'm so relieved it's going to work itself out.
