I live on a golf course and many mallards are laying all over the place. I found a nest a couple weeks ago and when I checked it yesterday there were two hens sitting on the same nest. Is this common? Has anyone ever heard of this? Just curious.

Last year two of my runners decided to use the same nest. The problem was they didn't really know how to share very well. They ended up fighting over the nest, kicking each other out and consequently breaking the eggs so none of them hatched.
