I just hatched some Double Silver Laced Barnevelders and want to share them as they grow. I got my eggs shipped to me from Paragon Hatchery in Oklahoma and I can’t recommend them enough. I purchased 6 eggs and was sent 1 extra. The eggs were packaged well and shipped via UPS. All were fertile and developed, but I did have one quitter at around 14 days. Still a great hatch for shipped eggs, and there were no issues with the hatch, either, all chicks pipped right on time and were out of the eggs within just a few hours. They hatched on 12/11/25.

Beautiful chicks, congrats on your hatch!

The Barnies have hit the Teenage Uglies stage. 4 weeks old now, and it’s time for them to move out of the brooder room and into the garage for a week or two before I put them outside into the grow out pen. The pullets are very chill and sweet. One of the cockerels is pretty sassy, the other two are more relaxed. The most relaxed of the cockerels is going to be a Big Boy, as he is significantly larger than the other two, but maybe that’s because instead of putting energy into growing feathers, he is just bulking up. He is still pretty bare and more fuzzy than the others.
