Seems to be more prevalent in new layers. Our first egg was yesterday, a double. Today's was smaller, and a single.

Even so, based on readings, chances are around 1/100 for new layers, dropping to 1/1000 as they age - or thereabouts.

Yes, it was the hens 10th egg ,but it skipped a day after that , so bonus + (-1) lol

enjoy them while you have them then! - all of mine that laid double-yolkers didn't do it for long, sadly.
