Okay, there's a large pet/farm animal store nearby that might have it. I'm pretty sure my flock got it from some silkie eggs I was hatching for someone, seeing as two of three have died. I noticed some bloody poop in two of my coops, my large flock and my growing out coop. I clean them out regularly. I've separated my two BRs from my four mix breeds, two month old chicks from the three younger ones, and the sick one, Angel from all others. I'll see if I can find an online site that sells corid, and check the store hopefully tomorrow.I actually ordered mine off amazon because it wasnt carried at any local stores here (during the shipping i lost 3 chicks- so sad!)
but you may have a local store that carries it where you are. It has the same antibiotic in the medicated chick feed but its a liquid higher dose. i cant remember the name.
my local store did have a different type of antibiotic but it didnt cover all the cocci strains. from what i understand corid is the only one that gets them all.
Treat for coccidiosis. If you have sulfadimethoxine even better, since it's an antibiotic as well. If you use Corrid, you can also use Tylan at the same time. The most common illnessesBefore pics, could I have some advice on my chick Angel? She is a few weeks old, and about an hour ago, if not less, she just sits with her wings droopy and eyes shut. She shivers, and its a pretty cold day here. Angel and some other older chicks live outside in a coop, but Angel is the smallest, despite two others being the same age. She is currently in the incubator warming up. What can I do to help her?
Doesn't matter, can you get it faster? Feed store? Tractor supply?I found a 'merial corid liquid 9.6% 16 ounce' bottle on amazon. Is this the right sort? Or should I get the powdered sort?
The more answers the better. My parents think I don't know what I'm talking about, so I can't order online. I'll check all pet and farming stores asap.Doesn't matter, can you get it faster? Feed store? Tractor supply?
When you get it and mix it, take each chick and use a tsp and dip their beaks in it or dribble it on the side of the beak till they start licking it up. Don't do down the throat.
