Double Yolker With Double Babies

Any update on this egg?

Sorry loves! I was without an internet connection for a few days there!

Unfortunately, we are fairly certain we lost the double yolker. The last candling has no movement, and a pretty clear blood ring. They did not appear to develop past the first few days, sadly! But I am happy to say that all the other eggs incubating with them have, or are actively hatching, so it just must of had something wrong early on. Risky business, double yolkers. My leghorn continues to lay double yolk eggs but i don’t think I would knowingly attempt to incubate another- my heart is too fragile!

The last egg that was due to hatch alongside them is internally pipped now, and we should have a baby within the day. I am just sad that it won’t have twins to keep it company.

Just a hint... the less handling (and candling) you do... the better it is...
I try to candle only twice during incubation. 3 times if necessary
