Hi.
I currently have my 6 eight weeks old ducklings. 3 boys, 3 girls. Tomorrow we are going to collect 6 more girls (12/13 weeks old). I'm feeling really nervous and worried. Is this normal?
We are moving our current babies outside tomorrow with the new arrivals so it will be everyone's first night in there.
I'm thinking it's good that I am feeling this way because I know I am acknowledging the responsibility. I feel that getting the extra is our only option because none of us are prepared to part with the boys. I guess that I'm looking for reassurance that I'm not sure anyone can give to me. I think my biggest concern is if the girls are noisy because they will be living in our back yard, as such, they will be in the wash house. If anyone is still reading at this point the. Thank you for your time and patience xxx

Of course girls will be noisy are you worried about the neighbors?since they will all be experiencing the move together hopefully that means it will go smoothly. There could be some pecking but unless someone is getting hurt I’d let them work it out. Let us know how it goes and of course pictures.

what breed are they? Girls will usually be quite loud but it does depend on the breed, some are a little quieter than others

My Runners and Buffs have their moments of quacking but it’s not non stop
I suppose it depends on the amount too? My girls can be loud but because there are only two they don't bounce off of eachother quite so much, they just say what they think and then go quiet again! I imagine a larger group would get quite excitable/chatty and bounce off of one another more

Yep my Buffs usually start it and it is usually a one-syllable quack then the other one will do the same it's almost like where are you quack. They don't like to be out of sight of each other.

That’s how it was when I only had daisy and mia
