Dove sitting on chicken egg....

Just sharing a very funny sight....
I came into aviary and both Silkie chickens were wandering around looking for breakfast and when I looked into the nesting box, one of my Tangerine Doves was sitting on a Silkie chicken egg!.......I've found the Doves in the Chicken nesting boxes before but this was the first egg sitting event!
Clearly the egg couldn't come out of that dove (Ouch!) But it was very interesting to see.- kind of like having the neighbor watch the kids while you go out!

Some folks have even hatched quail or bantam eggs under doves or pigeons.

So it continues,
I close up the aviary every evening and the Silkie is sitting in nesting box, I get there in the morning to open up and turn on lights and radio and the same Dove is sitting on the chicken egg......10 days in a row! Amazing.
