Doves, my new found love!

How do you sex doves anyways? I'd love to hatch out at least one baby, but the two I have are supposed to be girls. I've read that you can tell by the weird noise they make (not sure how to describe it, lol), and only one has been making that noise, but, I've also read that the only way to actually be sure was through DNA. None of their eggs have hatched according to DucknCover, plus he says that they were laying extra eggs, more than what one female is supposed to lay. Soo, any way for a beginner to tell? If you can only do it via DNA, how much (approximately) would it cost to get it done?

I had doves, a pair, when I was a kid and they were the BEST pets. They loved to be held and pet and were never flighty. I must have had two females because I never had singing going on

Make me really want to get a couple again.

The males will make a cooing sound the females will not.
they are basically the same size and look alike so visual sexing is almost impossable unless you are highly experienced, which I am not, I wait to see who's cooing and then snag them out to seperate.

Lol. I just checked youtube to make sure what my bird was doing was actually cooing, and now I've got my guy riled up and cooing up a storm. So then there's definately a male and a female? One's cooing and they have been producing eggs. What's wrong with the hatching then? Infertile pair or what?

first a reall stupid sounding question?
Is there a swing in the cage with them?
if there is take it out and give them solid perches, I wasnt getting any viable eggs, and while talking with a Parrot breeder she mentioned that birds can not get a grip on a moving object.
I took out the swings and put in solid perches and now I get babys when I want them.

Is that sucker infertile? It's probably partially decomposing (I know, gross, I was going to try to blow it and keep the shell, but didn't get around to it, lol). I also apologize for the frying pan. I didn't know where else to crack it open, and my trusty t-fal was sitting beside the sink waiting to be washed (I'm lazy after breakfast, leave me be, lol.)

Ah, sorry, my computer is running ungodly slow lately (and I've been too lazy to do anything about it). There are two solid perches, but no roost. I'm not sure if the cage is big enough for him to mount her, but I'm getting a parrot breeder cage in the next few days (as soon as I get a chance to pick it up that I don't feel like my spine is crushed or like I'm going to puke or pass out. Oh the joys of late pregnancy, lol.) The egg that I cracked also seemed pretty thin shelled. Are dove eggs supposed to be like this, or does my lady need to have calcium laid on her pretty good?

That is a fertile egg.

I wonder if they are just not setting right now or if there is someething going on?
are they brother and sister do you know?

Could be just lazy or not ready to become parents. how old are they?
