I had two drakes (one Khaki and one Khaki/Appleyard mix). One year, one was the dominant drake and he had two Drake curls and the other had only one slight curl. The next year, the other was the dominant drake. He had a major drake curl and the other did not have one. So, I think your testosterone theory makes sense.

This drake is not the alpha male, my cayuga drake (larry) is my alpha, he chases everyone.
