Drake head feathers.

Does anyone know the reason my drake, Chowder, will do this to his head feathers occasionally? I got him to do it for the picture by holding him on my lap for a few minutes then put him down to join his gf, Waddles.
One pic is normal Chowder the other is poofed up Chowder.

If he starts talking a lot, and starts flaring his neck feathers up, yes.

My Piddle and Paddle do that maybe its a drake thing

Lol, my guys do it too, usually that feather flaring, standing up really tall, making a ridiculous noise, followed by dropping their heads low to the ground and zooming around.

Mine too or they put there heads down and take off after one of the other ducks and come to a screeching hault just as they reach them and walk by like what i didn't do anything

hammered the nail on the head with this one... lots of talking between the two and flaired feathers.
