If you could only have 8 hens (no roosters), which breeds would you choose, and why?

I'd choose Australorps, because I love their size and colouring. IMHO they are some of the most beautiful birds.

I could never live without my Silkies, I love them

We moved over 500 miles about 6 months ago, and I had to sell off most of my birds (well, I had to sell all of them according to my husband). 5 of my Silkies made the trip with us, husband be darned! I couldn't part with them

I would take 4 Rhode Island Reds because I have the sweetest one right now her name is Jackie and she will fly on your lap when your sitting and 4 White Plymouth Rocks because I have the sweetest one of them to. Her name is Snow White and she will follow you and try to fly on your lap to.
