Glad you are back Jim. Was hoping it wasn't anything serious. We have bad internet here. Sounds like you found something better.

It just poured here all morning. The lightning was very very frightening, sorry, now I'm singing that Queen song. Couldn't get started on the roof. Did eventually get the scaffolding set up. Hopefully tomorrow is better. The weather people sure get it wrong a lot.

there are several ways to make it rain, wash your car, for me, leave
my tractor out of the shed, and try to do a project outside that you
really need to do, ie, fix the roof.
our Buick is just about dead. today we are riding with my brother
and his wife to the UP to look at a car that Annie's sister is selling.
I am not really too keen on the car. it has a lot of miles on it.
but it is cheap enough and might buy us time to shop for a better car.
back in the day, I should have stock piled a few of those $50.oo gems
that we used to buy..
we got all the apples frozen. had to toss a couple dozen that the
critters chewed on.
I made a batch of sloppy joes with a recipe that DD Barby gave
to us. It was OK. but not exactly what I am looking for. It was a
recipe from a restaurant that I love their sloppy joes.
I called Barby. she told me that she changed the brands of the
ingredients to suit what she had on hand..

Wish it felt like October. Too hot and humid today, and the breeze is out of the south blowing in a stink from the landfill. I prefer when it's southeast and it blows in the smell of French fries from Ore Ida. Actually northwest would be better like it should be. Than it's cool and crisp.

Was just catching up a bit. Jim, hope all went well with the dentist and the car search, and Lisa, thanks for getting the Queen song stuck in my head, too .

I'm on board with your and TheDawg's enjoyment of the smell of French fries, although there's little aroma when I'm cooking mine in the air fryer,

I don't mind the dentist at all. I had a lot of trouble with my teeth and gums when I was young, and I have to tell you, dentistry is Much Improved in these here modern times. And, I adore my dentist. A couple of years ago, I was working in the garage and a very large and heavy tool fell out of the rack and smashed me in the mouth, breaking off a piece of a front upper tooth.

I called my dentist's cell after hours on a Friday, and he told me to come right in, he would meet me at the office and would repair the tooth ASAP. Luv that man!

It's going to be the third consecutive 90-degree day today, not at all what I want or expect from October. Yesterday, I picked the last sweet pepper, another handful of cherry tomatoes and what I expect will be the last Cherokee purple that will ripen this year.

good october monday morning to you all.
yesterday we drove from central wisconsin
all the way to the north edge of the U P. 4 1/2 hours.
tried out Annie's sister's 2009 Nissan. Long story short,
we bought it. $850.oo. the AC doesn't work. and the hatch back latch doesn't work. I can fis the hatch back easily by switching a couple of wires around. Followed bro Dave home, since he had GPS
and we didn't. lots of spots with no towers up there.
many miles of desolate roads.
lots of dead and dry trees and brush. I told Annie that
it looks like a forest fire waiting to happen.
farther south the fall colors were awesome.
my mouth is still tender along the gums. she had to peel
the gum back to get the filling in..

My new dentist didn’t even have a hygienist so I didn’t get a cleaning. They claim they told me and tell all new patients but they definitely did NOT because I would NOT have gone had I known. Supposedly they are hiring one. But now I’m going to ANOTHER new dentist today to try out. Going for a cleaning. My dad and his fiancée also managed to get me in with another one for February if I don’t like this one or even if I do, this other one is half the distance. And willing to set up my rides. So yeah. We will see. We are keeping that appointment for now. So trying out lots of dentists lol and course the first one already did the money making part, the x rays, and tried to sell me stuff. But at least they were nice?
