Thanks! They do suck. And that’s awful! The weird thing is I started a new med and had none for like a couple weeks and thought this is great and then I get my cycle and have like 6 in one week break through to where I needed the rescue med, one of which I didn’t have it at the time so didn’t take it which sucked. That was last night.

Yeah I know a couple of them weren’t quite fully bad yet but I took the med so they wouldn’t get bad because you’re supposed to take it at onset and I knew they would get bad because I had all the precursor symptoms and stuff. The other ones were already bad but I waited to take it to make sure. Thankfully it still worked.

dug out the old waffle maker.
been a long time since I used one.
OK jim, don't try a single test run.
Nooo, fill all four spaces.. then guess at how long to let them bake.. had to pry the device open.. it pulled really hard. Probably because half stuck to the lid and half stayed in the bottom.. THEN, you go and read the instructions, right ??
If it opens with difficulty, the waffles are not done..
OK no problem.. just scrape it clean and start over .. wrong again.. it is stuck in so tightly that it won't unstick even if you use a fork, wet dish cloth, plastic bristled scrubber or fingers..
frustraded, and your spouse being no help. I think she was enjoying my misery..
finally I decide to go to town and buy a small nonstick version. Sure they show them on line, but don't have them in the store.. you have to order one.. NOT going to happen. buy the big 4 section nonstickOster Waffle Maker..
$45.oo instead of $8.oo.
the new one works just wonderfully......

Annie suggested I put the old sticky out on the deck.. she said the birds would pick it clean.. worth a try..
after I get it cleaned up, I will give it to someone I don't like..

I had the exact same thing happen to me last year. My waffle maker was from my wedding more than 30 some years ago. Had to toss it with a stuck waffle in it too. Good thing I had bought a tiny one and was able to make my waffles but at a slower pace.

I soaked the warrles with water and closed the lid. overnight things softened up enough to use the stiff bristled plastic brush on it.
It came clean..
Annie did put it out for the wild birds.
my waffles tasted good, but I thought they were a bit heavy.. I think I made the batter to thin..

we just got finished babysitting for a couple of hours for Leon.. his mom had to go see an alergy doctor..

All the talk about waffles makes me want to dig through the scary, filled-to-the-brim pantry and dig out my waffle maker -- a $2 gem from an auction. It's older but does a fine job of turning out waffles.

On the topic of migraines, I get far fewer of them (or any headaches, for that matter) since I stopped working at the newspaper. Coincidence? I don't think so.

On my last migraine, I used something my sister bought for me, a TheraICE headache relief cap, and after chilling it on the freezer for a couple of hours, it fits over the head, is stretchable, light-blocking and totally comfortable. There are no hard inserts and nothing to melt and drip all over. I don't know if it works for everyone, but it made me feel much better.

My sister is coming to visit today and is planning to stay until Friday. I hope she brings her work clothes because I have plenty of outdoor projects for us. There were some serious winds over the weekend, one of which ripped the roof off a small cedar dog house that I use as a "jail" for misbehaving, hormonal drakes.

Originally, there was a hinged roof on the house. That blew off in a wind storm a couple of years ago. I thought the replacement roof that I built -- which was not hinged -- was sturdy enough and heavy enough to withstand the winds. I was wrong.

Have fun with your sister Barb. I always wish I had one of those. Those sound like they were quite the winds you had there. I guess if you gotta lose a roof in a windstorm a small one is always the better choice.

so many of my carbide tipped saw blades are dull.. I set out to buy a diamond flat file to touch them up a bit.. I couldn't find a flat file anywhere we went. so, I spent $35.oo and bought a circular saw sharpener.
I looked it up on Utube and it seemed like it would work. Initially it takes a bit of setting up. but then it looked simple enough.
I have it on the kitchen table. mostly set up / I have to bring a saw blade in tomorrow and complete the set up..
Of course there are no set up directions with the saw.. or operating instructions either..
I had a German shepherd puppy back in the early 60's/ I built an insulated house with a removable roof. then I gave both to a guy who really wanted the dog..

Gee, a sharp tool without set-up or operating instructions would scare the crap out of me. But, I'm also terrified of my inherited table saw -- which I have used several times in recent years without losing any blood. So, best wishes with your sharpener!

Today, hours from now when Carolyn -- who does not have insomnia -- gets up, we will journey to Menards and buy materials for the latest version of the little roof. Maybe, together we can come up with a more permanent solution to my flying-roof problem.

Every day, I see more perennials peeking out of the dirt. I hope their optimism is rewarded; it looks like our "snow" on Friday may now just be rain.
