I found my "dream" dress, which I will wear on our wedding day, from an Etsy seller. Together with my bolero I paid under $90 (that included shipping and a slight alteration to the bolero). She makes dresses with simplicity and modesty in mind. I love the classic clean look, and the shape that the dress gives me. Her work is professional.

I am rather larger boned and a bit top-heavier, and I'm only 5' tall. This makes it very difficult for me to go shopping for clothes, period. If you want to visit the Etsy shop that I ordered my dress from, PM me. She was wonderful to work with and the prices are so affordable!

latterdaybride.com is, in my opinion, the best choice for pretty, elegant, modest dresses. They have wedding dresses, prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses, etc etc. Here's the link: http://www.latterdaybride.com/

Actually, EmtheFishLady offered to loan me a dress.

I've looked over everything at the local thrift stores. At the moment, everything is always either too short, too 90's, or too bridal gown from hell. When I say conservative, I mean 1) not low cut, 2) below the knee, and 3) not so tight that I might as well not be wearing anything at all. Modcloth was nice... but a lot of it was short, and too expensive (did I mention I only have about $20 to spend here?)

CD, Latter day Bride is my #1 favorite clothing site to visit. I am SO getting my wedding dress from there!

$20??? Oh girl, good luck. The LDS sites are great for conservative dresses. No I am not LDS.

Try Modcloth.com they have some pretty reasonably priced dresses. They specialize in "retro" stuff so a lot of it is more modest.
