Sometimes small is good! If they are being so annoying, they taste better! Good BBQ grill size, he looks great!Here is a 10 week old standard bred Barred Plymouth Rock cockerel. He was being a jerk already, and I won't have that. 1.5oz short of 2lbs seems really good to me, for such a young bird.

You can really see the difference between these birds and a dual-purpose when you look for the breast bone and see a dimple!View attachment 1898823 Well today I processed 3 of my meaties (Cornish rock Cross). 2 cockerels and 1 pullet. 7 weeks old, fed 24% starter feed for 2 weeks and then 20% starter/grower. Also fed mealworms, dried fruit and veggies. Kept in brooder room. Live weights averaged 6 lb 10 oz. dressed weights averaged 5 lb 6 oz.
