Dried blood clump near vent

Two of my chicks, the barred rocks, have these round dried bloody stump like things between their belly and vent. Is this like a belly button of sorts, where they were attached to the egg? Is it normal to be like this?

The vent is much higher..this looks like where the cord was

Yes, it's not like right on the vent, about a centimeter towards the belly.

Do I need to worry??

It's Ok. Don't worry. Don't pick at it or pull it off. It's normal and will go away on it's own in a few days to a week.

You're right, it's basically a belly button. Once in a while one will get infected, so you might want to just keep an eye on it. You will know there is a problem if you see pus or redness or swelling - it will be obvious. Most likely it will just try up and fall off like an ordinary scab.
