Dried blood on outside of duck egg

I have four Welsh harlequin hens, two of which appear to lay daily. I don't know which two. Since they started laying about a month ago, there have been two eggs every morning.

This morning, one of the eggs had blood streaks on the outside. There was no apparent blood on the straw inside their house. None of the ducks appear to have active bleeding and all are behaving typically--eating, drinking, swimming, foraging. The eggs weren't in a "nest" in their house, but were on top of the straw and not in the corner like they usually are. Should I be concerned? These are all views of the same egg.

It happens sometimes, especially with new layers. Not sure what the cause is but as long as the girls are not bleeding, it should be fine.

Hi.

I agree with the previous poster. It is from a ruptured blood vessel in the vent/laying tract. Maybe from straining to hard to lay a larger than normal egg. I see it once in a great while in my chickens and yes usually new layers.

Is it still normal if it's an older duck that's a few.years old
